The Emmy Awards announced its nominees today and we are super delighted to see Much shows Conan, South Park, @midnight, Drunk History, Children’s Hospital and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon receive nominations. Congrats, everyone!
The Tonight Show is up for Best Variety Talk Series; @midnight for Outstanding Interactive Program; South Park for Outstanding Animated Program; Drunk History for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series; Children’s Hospital for Outstanding Short-Format Live-Action Entertainment Program; Conan for Outstanding Picture Editing For Variety Programming. MTV’s Degrassi was also nominated for Outstanding Children’s Program.
HBO’s Game of Thrones leads in nominations with an incredible 24 nominations this year. Other pleasant surprises include Tatiana Maslany’s overdue nomination for her amazing work on Orphan Black and Inside Amy Schumer receiving seven nominations including Best Actress In A Comedy Series and Variety Sketch Series (going up against Drunk History).
One of the many, many snubs from today has got to be the hilarious comedy, Broad City. Don’t worry, star Abbi Jacobson is just as upset as we are:
